Living Nature is a New Zealand based natural skincare brand. The brand was founded in 1987 by Suzanne Hall, who was inspired by the healing properties of New Zealand native plants (80% of them can’t be found anywhere else in the world) to remedy her own skin conditions. Their mission since then has been:

“To create a sustainable, profitable, ecological, educational and inspirational business that impacts on the individual by promoting healthy vibrant skin; on the community by creating employment; on the country by featuring the uniqueness of our plant resources and earning export income; on the world by being a model of ethical, honourable business and solving inherent 21st century problems in a way that inspires the human spirit.”

I have used some skincare products by Living Nature before but I didn’t actually know they had started to sell makeup products too. I was sent two new shades to try from their natural lipstick collection in the colours Pure Passion and Wild Fire.

The entire ethos of the brand is definitely something that is important to me. A huge amount of the makeup and beauty products we use is absorbed into our skin so its important to know what exactly we are applying and how often. If you pick up the nearest beauty product to you – I am sure there will be at least one word in the ingredients on the back that you can’t pronounce (but thats a whole other blog post right there!) Living Nature ensure that all their products contain natural ingredients without any of the nasties.

Their lipsticks contain all natural pigments and nourishing waxes which makes application so easy. You can really feel the softness of the wax when you apply the lipstick and it leaves lips feeling full of moisture.

Both lipsticks are semi-matte, organic and both 100% natural. These two colours are incredibly complimentary to skin with yellow undertones. Pure Passion (above left) is a rich, deep red with subtle crimson undertones and Wild Fire (above right) is a warm, classic red with orange undertones.

Living Nature luckily have UK stockists and both lipsticks retail online for just under £20.
